The New Yorker
Alice Vincent – ‘The New Yorker’ – is a 21 year-old writer interested in magazine journalism as well as fashion, music and the arts. After completing an English Literature degree at Newcastle University this summer she has recently moved to New York to intern with Nylon magazine.
With work experience at publications including NME, Dazed and Confused and Vice Alice has been writing and contributing to music and arts-based publications for three years, as well as section-editing Entertainments and – lately – Culture for Newcastle University’s The Courier.
Deciding against taking a place on City University’s Magazine Journalism MA course and by throwing herself across the pond Alice hopes to learn more from a more-intensive internship and build upon her contacts to aid a burgeoning freelance career.
Aside from art, fashion and music Alice’s personal blog www.alicevincent.net picks up where her weekly Courier column, ‘North by South’ left off in narrating her adventures – transatlantic and otherwise.
In a perfect five-year’s time Alice sees herself in an editorial position at a magazine, after spending a few years freelancing around the world.
